As part of the national drive toward digital transformation and investment facilitation, the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), in collaboration with the Internal Trade Development Authority, announced the activation of the electronic system for reserving commercial names and issuing “No Conflict” certificates via the Egypt Digital Portal, effective February 8, 2026.

This initiative aligns with the objectives of Egypt Vision 2030 for administrative reform and the development of government services, aiming to improve government performance efficiency, enhance transparency, and simplify company formation procedures.

Steps to Obtain a “No Conflict” Certificate Electronically

The digital system has been designed to be user-friendly and time-saving, with simplified steps for investors and entrepreneurs:

  1. Create an Account on Egypt Digital Platform: Users start by registering and creating a personal account, granting access to all digital services tailored for investors.

  2. Access Personal Services: After logging in, users navigate to their personal page and select the Egypt Digital services to access the available investment-related services.

  3. Select Commercial Name Reservation Service: Within the commercial registry services, investors can choose the “Reserve Commercial Name (No Conflict Certificate)” service, which verifies the availability of the desired name and ensures it does not conflict with existing companies.

  4. Submit Data Electronically: After selecting a commercial name, users enter the required data, attach any necessary documents, and submit the request electronically—eliminating the need for paperwork or visiting government offices.

Benefits of Using the Digital System

The system provides several key advantages for investors:

  • Faster Company Formation: Investors can complete the commercial name reservation and “No Conflict” certificate process much faster than traditional methods.

  • Reduced Paperwork: The electronic certificate code can be linked directly to the automated company formation system, eliminating the need for physical documents and minimizing errors.

  • Support for Digital Transformation: This initiative contributes to the state’s efforts to digitize government services, creating a modern, legally secure business environment.

  • Minimized Human Intervention: By relying on the electronic system, manual interventions are reduced, enhancing transparency and governance during company registration.

  • Easy Access to Services: Entrepreneurs and investors can manage requests and track the certificate status anytime, anywhere, without visiting government offices.

Impact on the Investment Environment

This initiative represents a significant step forward in improving the company formation experience in Egypt by:

  • Facilitating Business Operations: Simplifying procedures and reducing the time and effort needed for registration.

  • Enhancing Transparency and Credibility: Ensuring that all commercial names undergo a precise digital check to prevent duplication or misleading names.

  • Supporting Local and Foreign Entrepreneurs: Making it easier for domestic and international investors to reserve commercial names without procedural complications, thereby increasing Egypt’s market attractiveness.

  • Empowering Startups: Providing a fast and efficient framework for new company formation, supporting innovation and economic growth.

Future Expansion of Digital Services

The General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) is working to expand the portfolio of digital services for investors, including:

  • Enhancing user interfaces.

  • Adding additional services linked to the commercial registry.

  • Integrating all stages of company formation and investment procedures into a fully connected digital system.

The goal is to build a comprehensive digital ecosystem that contributes to achieving Egypt Vision 2030 objectives and positions Egypt as a regional leader in digital transformation for the investment sector.
